IP address and Subnet mask automatically getting reset

Postby Aniket » Mon May 12, 2008 12:50 pm

Have a strange problem here, wherein the IP address and the Subnet mask at the workstations is getting reset to 0.0.0.0 Its a DHCP network and have scanned (no virus found), even with other scanners.
Have restarted the DHCP server aswell, but no change. Please let me know if anything else can b done.

Provide a Static ip to the client system and then ping the DHCP server. Also, check if the static ip resets..

HI Divesh,
Thanks for the reply..... however, this is *not possible* as there are domain restrictions so as to give only DHCP and not otherwise. So cannot check the same with this option.

Hi,

Is this on a XP machine?
Did you run the XP SP3 update?

Thanks,
