Hi,
I have a customer who has installed eScan AV for SOHO on a small home network. In order to view the shares they need to pause the protection in eScan. This also prevents users from printing... with protection on the system will lock up when trying to print... when protection is paused it works fine.
How do we configure eScan to allow this traffic?
Is it possible to disable protection period..so it isn't enabled on reboot?
Thanks,
Joan

Hello..
Which version eScan does your customer use??
I know eariler build eScan DEFAULT disable LAN share.
You can enable it from Firewall Setting.
If you using eScan 10.0.962.356, they default make a ZONE rule for local area network to allow local LAN share.
Hope this can help you.

If u still the face the same problem after allowing the both in the firewall,
Just do this which must solve ur problem:
Go to c:\windows in command prompt
and type edit win.ini
under it u will find an entry called remove simple file sharing
whichs value will be 1
just change it to 0
and save the win.ini after making the changes, and reboot ur machine
This must solve ur problem.

Thanks! We did have the older version on. The new one adds the local LAN as a trusted zone which eliminates the problem.
