How to find which update file detects a particular virus

Postby nitin » Sat Oct 04, 2008 2:27 am

Follow the below procedure to find the name of the "virus definition file" of eScan which detects the virus.

1) First, Download the latest updates of eScan.
2) Once eScan is updated, then Open Windows Command Prompt.
3) Go to C:\AVPDOS folder and type the below command and press Enter.

AVPDOS32 /vl=a.txt

The above command will create a text file (a.txt) in the same folder (c:\avpdos).
It will list the name of the update file and the virus detcted by that file.
