on the latest version, it seems that you set the email/Web Scanning on disable upon installation. So how can we enable it remotely from the console?.

yes, the email/webpage scanning feature in the client machine is disabled by default in the latest version of escan (9.0.779.1)
To remotely deploy this setting (ie. to change the email/webpage scanning) on the client machine
please follow the below procedure
1. Open the escan management console
2. Go to services > EMC settings
Check " Enable Advaced settings in 'Deploy Rule-Sets' wizard "
3. Click OK
4. Go to services > Deploy rule Sets
5. Create New Policy, Name the policy
6. Click on "Advance" button
7. Check Mailscan-Lite Settings
8. Click on "Edit" Button
9. Click on "Add" Button
10.In "section" Dropdown menu select "General"
11. In "keyname" Dropdown menu select "Enabled"
12. In "value" text field enter 1
13. Click on "Add"
14. Close mailscan.ini details window
15. click on OK button
16. Click on next button and select the client which you want to make this setting or All Clients
17. Click on "deploy" button
18. make the client machine take updates from server
19. After taking the updates from the server please restart the client machine once for the efect to take place.
