Our team has worked very hard to build eScan v10 as a security product that will excel ALL other competing products in the market - in terms of performance, features, documentation and ease of use. We sincerely hope you will love the end-result of our efforts.

We look forward to receiving your valued feedback.

Please note: MicroWorld team members can directly contact QA team to get build images - this will be much faster for all of you.

About Password during installation

Postby Sidney » Fri Oct 17, 2008 2:55 pm

Hello Sir,
I had tried your eScan 10 (beta 11).(ISS)
I found one problem if you do NOT keyin the "Password" during installation.
I installed eScan 10 as I install eScan 9.0.824.205, I often press "Cancel" while installation Guide asking me to put "Administrator Password".
In eScan 9.0.824.205, I can use eScan without password and can put password in Content Administrator.
In eScan 10, I can ONLY use "Read Only" in protection center. And I can NOT find the place to put the "Password" to get the rights to configure the eScan System.
So I un-installed eScan 10, and re-installed eScan with "password" input for the rights to configure the eScan System.
It is NOT convenient and easy for end user, please check ... Thank you..

As of now MicroWorld decided that the password should be mandatory.
But just in case you skip the proceedure, a default password of 'admin' will be set.
You can see that if you move the mouse over the password hint - but at least not yet when using German language installation.

Axel

I had tried English version, it shown the default password "admin" in hint.
Maybe the Beta version does NOT make the hint for default in other language..
Please remeber to make the hint in other languages, people in Taiwan almost use Chinese only.. Thanks...

escan10 beta version

Postby tbaba » Tue Nov 18, 2008 3:52 pm

The only fault i see in escan 10 beta version is that the firewall blocks some of my applications despite the fact that i have given permit option in firewall application rule. Each time i restart my system it keeps blocking those application, eg. outlook express, yahoo messenger, software informer, free download manager, internet explorer etc.

You should try the release candidate 1 instead of the beta:

http://update6.mwti.net/download/escan1 ... n2k3ek.exe ( 75.3 MB )
http://update6.mwti.net/download/escan1 ... n2k3ek.exe ( 75.3 MB )

eScan 10 release is still blocking my yahoo messenger after giving permit in firewall settings (zone rule)
each time i execute the program it pop out a message:eScan Endpoint Security Alert, Application (yahoo messenger) has been blocked by escan. Please contact you Systems Administrator for any further information.
I have tried with AV and ISS, it was still the same problem

Please help the message is embarrasing.

Hello tbaba,

As per your post it clearly indicates that the blocking is by the End Point Security and not the firewall.

You could either switch of this feature by stopping End Point Security
or else goto
Protection -> EndPoint Security -> Settings -> Application Control

Browse through the Instant Messengers Section and uncheck the Yahoomessenger.exe or any other exe related to you and then check again.
