Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting us at eScan.

Steps below guide you to configure mailscan for linux with qmail.

1) By default qmail using the smtp port 25 , we need to change it to different port to modify port
open the services file at “/etc/services”, search the entry “smtp” change the value of port from 25
to 26 .

2) Now we need to configure mailscan, mailscan acts on the proxy level , by default mailscan is
listening on 25 port for the incoming mails,so now all the incoming mails coming to the domain
will be accepted by mailscan.

3) Open the web console of mailscan by browser by link “https://ipaddress:10443” login to web
console by creating user, now click on the “mail options” tab in domain tab add the domains ,
and the relay ip address range you wish to assign .

4) Now click on features tab under mail options under “forward mails of” select the domains and
give the ip address as where the qmail server is located if it is in same system then give it as
127.0.0.1 and port 26 , click on add to add the forwording, by this step the incoming mails from
the specific domains will be forworded to the qmail on 26 port and get delived by mailscan.
repeat the same step for different domains.

5) Now in “server control” tab click on server status and restart the smtp and antispam service.

you can check the smtp and anti-spam log under log tab in web console
