Two questions about Policy Setting

Postby Sidney » Thu Apr 02, 2009 9:36 am

Hello Sir,
Customers had two questions in Policy Settings.
1 In Policy Settings, Firewall rules do NOT have "Application Settings".
Users need using this setting to make some applications "allow" or "deny" network connection.
How to make "Application Settings" can be deployed?
Or, when will make this function in Policy Settings?

2 If users setting a policy and deployed, they want to make a little change in this policy, the policy settings do NOT have the modify settings function.
Do you have other way to change some settings in a deployed policy without make a new policy?
Users said they can NOT remeber all the settings they had deployed, they had too many policies for many departments.
They want to make some change in a deployed policy and re-deploy it.
If eScan do NOT have this fuction now, please kindly tell us when will you make this function?

Customers using eScan Corp 10.968.374.

Hi Sidney,

As of now you can not deploy "Application Rules" in firewall settings section from EMC.
This is by design.

And for the policy editing part,it will be available in new EMC.
We will notify you once the new EMC is released.

Hello Shrinivas,
I don't mean to be negative all the time but this is another case of eScan getting ahead of itself. You have a new version of eScan but it is still using the old EMC. Why? Why is the client getting ahead of the server?

I've never had so much issue in configuring/deploying rules for users from all the other antivirus system that I have used compared to escan. The merging and overriding of rules is a joke. I can add (merge) but I cannot remove without first deleting (override) and then redo the rules.

I do hope the new EMC is out soon as it is long overdue.

Until you release the new EMC, what are you going to do about my current problem, which has been ignored by MWTi for the last 2 months.
