Hi

By 03 March 2009 i've installed ESCAN ver 10.0.962.356 in my computer.
And i scanned my PC with quick scan you system utility on that log i found that mailscan.exe has got infected with Trojan virus and it was captured by it's own utility. The mailscan.exe is related to ESCAN so what's the point of installing an Antivirus with a virus...........

The Antivirus does not have a virus in it.
The said file, mailscan.exe could have been infected by the virus and hence the detection and not that the AV caries a virus with itself.

Hi Mathew,

I too accept that AV doesn't carry the virus. But i didn't installed any softwares except OS and Escan was installed on my PC.
It's a brand new Hard Disk with single partition.
I've just formatted the system & installed E Scan 10 and scanned my PC.
I found this Mailscan.exe has got an infection. I installed the E Scan from a pen drive but i'm sure my pen didn't got any infection cos it was scanned by another machine which has an ESCAN 10.....

It could have been a false alarm which possibly might have been removed now.

Hi Vikas,

As i have already made an updation of your software i didn't got any infection suspect so far. Please make sure that it should not happen again, cos as i'm a dealer i have to answer the endusers.
