Monitor settings policy is in grey

Postby pascal » Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:37 pm

Hello,

On our escan management console the icon Monitor Setings is in grey so we can't setup example "folder to exclude".

We have the version 9.0.779.102 of escan corporate.

We have already test the procedure with the file g0avpmcfg.klr

Thanks

Pascal

Please follow the below procedure:

1. Open monitor settings.
2. Select the folder which you want to exclude.
3. Save the settings.
4. Open registry.
5. Then browse to following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroWorld\eScan for Windows\MwMonitor\ExcludeFolders\F1

Here you will find the folder you have excluded.

Click on "F1" key

6. Then click on "Registry" Menu, Then click on Export Registry file.
7. Save the file as g0mwmon.reg in c:\pub\update folder.
8. Then go to c:\progra~1\escan\vista folder and copy avpmcfg.klr file to g0avpmcfg.klr and then move g0avpmcfg.klr file to c:\pub\update folder.
9. Then download the updates from client. This should resolve the problem.

Hello Vikas,
hello Pascal,

We have the same problem. So it seems to be a general problem with EMC.

eScan Corp. for MailScan 9.0.779.102

Yes, on client side monitor settings are not accessible. You can see the changes in c:\progra~1\escan\log\monvir.log file.

No need to go to registry.

It will be available soon.

follow-up inquiry

Postby inbloom222 » Mon Mar 24, 2008 6:53 am

I just notice that everytime i add an excluded folder it creates another key "F2".
If i'm to add this reg. entry what should be its filename? and does it mean to say that everytime i add another excluded folder/file i need to export it 1 by 1. Hope you get my point.
thanks

With the latest ESPATCH the monitor settings are enabled in Eserv and hence we could deploy monitor settings from the server.
